Thanks gus_rests! This is great research you have been doing, could be very helpful to some people out there. roxine
There are tests for this. And the CYP2D6 genotypes are well researched. Take a look here: https://testdirectory.questdiagnostics.com/test/test-detail/10490/cytochrome-p450-2d6-genotype?p=r&cc=MASTER On the bottom of the page there is a lot of information about this. Too much to quote all at once. What I'm looking for now is a way of testing yourself that is reasonably accurate and doesn't demand a petry dish and DNA sampling. PS KP, those proteins could be an option for poor metabolizers. No idea of it is going to reach it's target destination, also something for further investigation.
Assessing it for a while, a few observations came to me: * the metabolisation of compounds related to the issue with low CYP2D6 may express itself as having trouble coping with 'feelings in the gut'. Prime example for me is getting a bad vibe from external source and not being able to get over it, having it last up to weeks at a time. Normally somebody is able to get over it in a matter of hours or a few days. I am inclined to assert this is due to CYP2D6 and related enzymes, they are responsible for metabolising those compounds that makes one feel okay. * there is a back-up mechanism that allows the body to cope with enduring discomfort due to the liver being unable to metabolise compounds, but this mechanism only springs into action when the situation gets dire. It's the nature of the back-up system. So if you experience enduring situations of tormenting 'feelings in the gut', to the point you cannot do else but lie and... suffer, that's what I'm talking about. So... there may be a solution. You need to ingest liver-enzymes from external source. The most easy to fix and cheapest solution is to start eating animal liver. Yes, no vegetarian options left here. But from what I've experienced past few weeks, this works. It's thing to start eating meat, but eating animal liver, that's on another level alltogether. Yet I propose this as serious solution. Do take livers from animals that had a good life without antibiotics. Nobody likes to eat those parts, so they're cheap to come but. I notice that those feelings in the gut do go away now. And I start to feel nice. Can't tell how much I missed that, it's only now I start to notice what was missing. Things get comfortable when the liver can do it's job to the fullest.
Ah you think I must be crazy... that may be true. Yet there is an important point to this and that's the following: If you're on heroin and have little or no CYP2D6, you're not going to be able to get off with Iboga, that's for sure. In fact being a poor CYP2D6 metaboliser and on heroin will be a fucking nightmare in all respects. So for those people, there is this simple and effective solution: When preparing for a flood, eat lot's of liver. That will help build up the neccessary concentration of enzymes and that enables the possibility to get off. ... And for my previous post possible rant theory: What's the relationship between opiates and ibogain? Both are metabolised by CYP2D6, so what's the connection? The hunch underlying my reasoning is this: CYP2D6 is connected with those compounds that establish well-being. And to add, there are possibly multiple enzymes that are related and deal with both external and internal compounds. When I did my first flood this year, afterward I couldn't sleep badly and had those incredible cravings for tabacco, marihuana and coca. Now tabacco and marihuana where not a real problem, but a little bit of coca and my heart started to race like crazy. I felt like going into cardiac arrest or whatever you may call it, having a heart attack - it was a very painful as well. I spent a few hours being very very uncomfortable and disstressed by my heart that raced whenever I didn't actively spent intention on it to be relaxed.
