how do you find a treatment center?

Rise, If you can find this forum, how are you struggling to find treatment centers?  Feel free to PM or email me to get more detailed information.    How do you envision contributing to a treatment facility?

I was afraid Id get responses like that.  Yes I found this site and it taught me a lot!  Thank God.  Hence, why I asked here.  You are right I could look it up, google it, but I thought this place would be the best place to pose the question, since its kind of Iboga central.  Then again, I understand we have to be careful.  Maybe it was a bad idea to ask this here. You ask how I can contribute.  Well, I am highly trained to contribute in a pretty significant way, but now that Ive said that, Ive probably said too much.  It is dangerous I understand.  I should probably just move on and look it up a different way.  But I understand your caution to help me.  We have to remain in the shadows.  Ive been looking over volumes of research on pubmed.  There is no shortage of highly credentialed research backing up this work.  We should all be proud of where this is going.  Its one of the most promising things thats come along in decades, for helping our children escape terrible addiction, thats plagued mankind for hundreds of years.

Rise I would be happy to talk to you about it further, just not in a public thread.  Once again, feel free to PM me or email me to learn more.  I don't know the rules here quite yet, so just being cautious.  May I ask what your area of expertise is?  Do you have medical training?  I have done some work with a facility......very brief stint of "helping out" more so.....

Perfectly legit thread Rise, there are no problems with any of your questions...you are asking after 'treatment centers' - this implies (by the unofficial underground consensus dictionary) an outfit operating outside the States where in some cases people may still have a hand in dealing with their own health needs in 'unorthodox' ways...or whatever ways they see potential benefit in... As ever I am impressed by 'iboga serendipity' and its always impeccable timing. I am currently in the process of beginning early stage discussions with select 'parties' -  regarding the (potential) incorporation and instillation of 'treatment center' focused boards here on Iboga. As folks may be aware there has yet been a lot of surreptitious talk regarding these facilities and people are obviously free to discuss their own experiences with any outfit, organization or independent provider...in fact we encourage such discourse - with the common sense caveat that no one incriminates themselves or others in a drastically dingbat way...basically if you are not sure of something, PM a mod and ask, or peek around the boards looking at similar threads akin to whatever is on your mind concerning these things... It is an absolute necessity that there be SOMEWHERE people can go and peruse (and even contribute to) a body of knowledge that is not readily available elsewhere... by its very nature this work carries risks and issues that are unique and delicate, but it is safe to responsibly discuss one's experiences on these boards - so far for over three years we have all managed to help one another learn to be safer and more conscientious about disseminating information of this...ilk. I have been thinking that the time draws near to step into looking at how we as a forum and community can safely and more thoroughly engage in a 'fine tuned' data gathering; where currently operating facilities are the focus. We must, of course, strike a delicate balance - and remain as unbiased and 'professionally detached' as necessary - in order to facilitate bringing such an addition into its appropriate sphere of influence here, and above all - to be taken seriously and never viewed as a forum for devolving into internal politics and the bureaucratic mud-slinging we see elsewhere online all too often... There are no 'treatment centers', as such, operating Stateside, and discussion of clandestine operations falls under the 'no shit' category of form and etiquette we come to expect in our members here - so I've zero concerns for our collective safety or integrity re: the Ibogaine.club entity. There simply will not be any discussion about centers or practices that do not 'exist'. But this forum and all its boards are international -  so there is plenty of room to debate the merits of a given outfit, praise great services and prices, share information about locations and ease of access, safety standards, etc... or identify the unscrupulous and dangerous places to avoid...yes we think this idea's time has come. There may be a 'prototype' sub forum in the very near future and as ever I ask for any and all ideas, comments and critiques you guys may have to share about this potential new board. It is always important to remember - and particularly for our new friends here, of which there are quite a pleasant few - that this is not, never has been and will not be - in any fashion or misguided perception - any kind of official endorsements relating to ANY specific outfit, centers or independent agencies working to treat people with iboga/ibogaine. Also - We will be modifying sponsorship in the early months of the new year to be more inclusive - depending on many items and issues - the potential of (and for) -  this 'treatment center' forum we are considering among other things  - there may be some initial new relationship dynamics to include and explore as we grow and - Hope willing - mature, into an ever stronger and genuinely altruistic community of intrepid thinkers and brave and brilliant like minds. No one wants to get too big for their britches, and we damned sure won't be having any of THAT, but at the same time, our statistics reflect enormous - though often quiet - growth and page viewing activity. Far more than pkeffect or I ever imagined when we popped the lid on this can as an experimental pool and interactive oasis from the legions of poop that so saturate a world wide web that belongs as much to each of us as anyone else. That run-on sentence means I am way too tired to continue for now  You...YOU - fine and decent folks have created this place, not me, you guys...let's never stop.

I appreciate your kind words Cal, and all your hard work to bring news of a plant that can help people and addicts alike.  It can help one find inner peace and it can help others shed whatever is on their back, that's generally taken so much of their energy away, sapped so much of their waking hours and can possibly allow them the chance to remember what it feels like to be clean again, to be clear headed and be able to make confident, hopeful, and positive life -changing, creative decisions again.  Its remarkable to find something so natural and safe also so powerful and so helpful for so many of us...not to mention the greater implications on everyone world wide for treating their ego to one look at reality unhindered by all that hinders them....   Alcoholism alone effects so many people that if taken into account with auto accidents and alcohol- related domestic violence, which also leads to prison violence inflicted, etc.. its one of the leading causes of preventable death and suffering world wide.  I am proud to say that Iboga helped me find a world without alcohol.  Ive been off the sauce for 6 whole months now!

Egokilla' - thanks for the vote of confidence and also for your enthusiasm about this topic. This is something I would very much like to see happen and I have been talking with pkeffect about it for some time, he is certainly on board with the idea, but getting from good idea to practical, actual 'provider/treatment center/clinic' board is a bit trickier than it may seem...anyone who is plugged into the MindVox list can affirm that (sadly) there are too often wide open shit-slinging contests between so-called providers, and that they pull no punches. I would be remiss if I did not take into account the politics of such an endeavor. For myself, I could readily recommend just a few genuinely gifted, careful, and experienced facilitators right off the cuff...in fact the folks I have in mind are the first place(s) I would send anyone who asked me my opinion. But I see that as a conflict of interest as things are right now, this board being the place it is: lightly moderated, suited for those who cannot afford a swanky resort-style clinic with a 10k price tag, those who are of a mind to DIY (not alone mind you!) and everything in between...I have received some emails asking me (basically) about 'advertising' here and though the parties who asked were straight-up and, I believe , totally genuine, I had to put them off until we could come up with something workable that would be a real benefit to members...to people in general, and not appear to be endorsing any specific place or group... Unfortunately, unless I have some kind of divine epiphany and am shown the glittering road to take, I will just leave things as they are for the time being - people here are free to discuss their experiences with whoever or wherever they were treated - and do so with decorum and common sense, not discussing clandestine rendezvous in seedy hotels, etc.  I would really like to eventually have some kind of sub-forum, but one thing that I keep coming back to is that I would have great difficulty letting a facility have a platform here, if I had not been there myself or at least someone close to me having been there to vouch first hand. As I said the politics of the 'scene' can and regretfully do get pretty damned ugly from time to time and it is not always easy to even know what the actual truth is whenever something blows up...I could not sleep at night if I (even inadvertently) somehow let Iboga get wrapped up in some tangled nonsense or worse: targeted as the 'place' where [fill in the blank] was recommended or had a banner up, etc... It truly is lame that we must give so much thought to such nincompoops - but that is the reality of the current situation. And if stopping short of having such a sub forum here is the only way to be 100% sure that we can avoid being dragged in to a potential turd fight, then well...we're no worse off than we were before, and perhaps the 'community' of providers will eventually prune itself down to earth and there really will be more cooperation than competition. And as for the ultra-expensive 'clinics' I am already ambivalent about most of them and I have heard little to my liking, surely without having been to such a place myself and at least toured the facility - no way I could endorse them. I am however, quite open to ideas and suggestions - so please people, if anyone has something to share or feels like I'm being overly protective or anything, come on out and let's talk about it - because this forum is a resource - and it should only ever be one of several (though it is cool if it is your favorite  ). I would see it grow to eventually incorporate having such a sub forum - with treatment centers and independent providers listed and discussed, I am just unclear on how this would look at present, what shape it would take and what affects it could potentially have on the boards as a whole. We have something very special going here, and I am all for growing it ever higher, so long as we maintain our integrity - if this is at all possible without inviting the politics and craziness I have seen elsewhere, it should be a goal for the future.  Love y'all, Cal
