Iboga straight from 0.2 subs? or switch to SAO?
Hi tranquilpine90, coming straight off subs, no matter the dose, will be very difficult even with Iboga. I don't think that a low dose acts like a SAO.. again, I don't know a whole lot about them, but I think a long lasting opioid still has a longer half life regardless of the dose, though the lower you go the better obviously... I would recommend switching to SAO's for as long as possible. The longer off the subs the better you will fare in the long run. Weaning yourself to .2 is great, but switching will be so much easier, you shouldn't have PAWS nearly as long and they should be less difficult to deal with. I switched to morphine for a month after weaning my methadone down to 5mgs and wish I had gone at least two months on SAO and methadone seems to be quite a bit easier than the subs. roxine
Yeah I kind of agree with you Lalababa..I keep thinking 2-3 months away from subs the Iboga may do the same job if I just do Iboga straight from 0.2 subs or if am only 1 month away.. Some have suggested that for Iboga to make any difference I should be around 4-5 months off sub before doing Iboga... The lower the sub dose the more it works as a SAO, what with the symptoms I tend to feel now and then, feeling the half-life wears off quicker, but I think the brain/receptors are still saturated from years of bup..I was never on high doses of sub to being with, last 4 years has always been between 0.8 and 1mg of subs, so I think this should work in my favor.. I spoke to someone who did Iboga straight from subs, well switched to Morphine for like 6 days, and he was on 2mgs of subs when he switched, he claimed it worked for him, but then you read other cases where people still felt crummy for 1-2 years even with Iboga and several boosters. I think some people expect too much from Iboga, I think Iboga helps depression and mentality wise, so that helps you distract away from pshycal withdrawal, but I think some people want to feel well both mentally and psychically 100%. Am in reasonable good shape, I do aerobics a lot, jog a lot, aren't on any other meds, never been prone to any depression before, wasn't on opiates for very long, infact been on sub longer then any opiate, and am still relatively young age (32), so all this should work in my favor...I have had no cravings whatsoever, Ive changed my mindset of addiction a long time ago, the couple of times I've been off sub I've never resorted to an opiate or felt the need to..My only issue is getting past the symptoms of subs, I can handle the pshycal side but I want to feel at least semi decent mentally, so I can continue to work and continue with my life, I know if am mentality ok and clear I can handle the pshycal side because it will distract me away from it, this is the general trend when it comes to folks using Iboga to detox from methadone and suboxone..
I have some short acting opiates available to me..I have morphine sulphate time-release, about a months worth but may be able to extend longer as I won't need that much as I would be jumping from 0.2 or 0.125 of subs.. I also have 90mg time release Dihydrocodeine, about 2 months worth, codeine around 1 months worth, I may buy more Dihydrocodeine from online to last me even 6 month. Someone suggest to just take short acting opiates for 6 months rather then do Iboga...But yeah I have enough SAOs to my avail, now the dilemma is how long to be on SAOs, some have even suggest 5-6 months and then Iboga, but like I said the general consensus is those in high doses of sub need to switch to SAOs longer then someone on low doses of sub.. I may even just need boosters instead of a flood if am far away from sub as possible, but we shall see what happens... Am assuming time-release short acting opiates will be more beneficial then instant release ones considering I've been on a long half life opiate for a while?
