23 days since flood dose and doing great

it's been a little over three weeks and I'm finally just starting to feel normal. The first two weeks was the weakest I've ever been. Some have advised that that is likely because of my age of 56 years. although weak I escaped any serious withdrawal symptoms. I'm up to walking 3 miles a day. Eating well. Sleeping a little better.  Valerian root and Benadryl have helped with the sleep. Kratom in small doses provides a little energy, although I am concerned about that getting out of hand and I am thinking about laying off. At any rate, I want to thank everybody for the advice as I went through the difficult time. The advice all proved accurate and the suggestions were helpful beyond belief. In particular, the hot showers initially after doing the flood were a godsend. I was doing five or six showers per day in the beginning. Getting exercise as soon as possible was also amazingly beneficial, although exercising initially took about every bit of willpower I had. Thanks again to everyone.

Congrats on your success thus far!  I am truly happy for you. Stopping the kratom should be no big deal, I used it for a short period and didn't notice any backfire when I suddenly stopped other than the fatigue that was already there.  I actually didn't like the stimulant effect too much, but it helped me push through work at a time when I otherwise would not have made it. For sleep, I recommend L-Tryptophan by Source Naturals and/or Magnesium Serene by the same company.  Both are a gem of a product and Source Naturals is top of the line. Exercise, hot baths and the sauna have really helped me in my recovery from opiate addiction.

It took me several months to start feeling "normal"  if I even remember what that really feels like,  I think you will continue to feel better and better, especially with more exercise.  Congratulations!

Hi Fritz, The cravings can last a life time, the best way to get rid of the cravings other than Ibo is by going to NA meetings - but that's just me. Best,   cinderpath
