at last
Welcome gus_rests! Nice introduction....I hope you will share more with us as you are comfortable. If this was your first flood, that alone - you may discover, can account for many strange things you have perceived...simply due to unfamiliarity with a very strong and totally weird medicine. I mean let's face it: the stuff is damned strange. I look forward to more details when you are up for it. And yeah let's hear it for iboga fatigue and especially insomnia - ask all the opiate-heads how much fun that was, lol... You've certainly piqued my interests, glad to have you and welcome aboard, Cal
Welcome samyana, It is okay to take some melatonin if you are having trouble sleeping. I think a lot of of us have used it. As far as it not metabolizing right, do you mean it took a very long time to start working? I have seen this before with TA that had been capped and sitting for awhile, seemed when I took it out of the cap and ground it back up it hit much faster. I am looking forward to hearing more about what went wrong and your report. roxine
Hi brightwillow & roxine I read this book about Iboga, containing some essays about it. One essay mentioned that 5 to 10 percent of caucasians do not have the liver enzyme responsible for creating the metabolite of ibogain (it mentioned specifically ibogain). This meant that those people wouldn't have the anti-craving benefits of it, so anti-addiction doesn't work for them. The moment I went home I already found the lust in me to light a joint again. So that's why in part. Also there was this thing that it wouldn't push trough, so to say. I don't know if I'm right at all though, but the guy who helped me told that it would be chaotic in the beginning and later on become clear and spiritual etc. But it kept chaotic and very dark all the time. It was only right at the end, after the last spoon I decided to try a specific drum 'n bass track from years ago and then finally something broke through, like it needed an artificial push to keep going. Then finally I got some answers. At last. ps where can I find the dictionary? Finding out what flooding meant was easy, but I read TA's and other stuff all over...
This item keeps popping up, and so I am being called forth out of pathological laziness to create a glossary - a no-brainer now that I think of it, but we were so small not that long ago and most people that found the way here had at least a reasonable basic familiarity with terminology and protocols, etc... Thanks for pointing this out, we are grateful to be getting an average of 1.38 new registrations per day...and man I love it! But this also means that more and more newbies are coming here quite 'fresh' as it were, with little more than hope or rumors to have brought them looking to this work. So, in the Spirit of DIY - I nominate...one of you guys...to break ground on developing a glossary of terms and definitions so our burgeoning family will have the convenience of a click without needing to go elsewhere and interrupt whatever thread or idea they are on. So it shall be done, I will even graciously offer my personal assistance, criticisms and final rubber-stamp on the editing while taking full credit for the idea. I'm on a roll here... A recent post by Jox talked about just this thing re: specific, detailed, like no wiggle-room description and definition of terms such as 'flood' 'microdose' and 'booster' etc...I guess it is just so familiar to me after these few years I did not readily see how confusing it might look to the newcomer. Plus it is really a necessity, it's the responsible thing to do. Raise your hand if you want to contribute - I will start a new thread and link it here so we don't further discombobulate this already multifaceted thread. Dang, what a great idea. PS - more on topic - I am wondering about your dose and how you took it, in terms of chronology. I have had very similar iboga (TA) trips where I felt 'hung up' the better part of the time, yet still had all the fun side effects like heavy ataxia, maddening insomnia, the like..but it seemed incongruent according to my expectations for the 'meat' of the flood. This is usually IMO/IME the result of a near miss from just barely under-dosing. The experience as you described it thus far screams 'threshold' and the only way out of that is through it, and this requires adjusting dose, timing or both. Please, when you can share details, post your experience in the Iboga Journals board and we can maybe help shed some light. Also - it'd be real cool if you could find a link to the book or essays, or even just the name of it - I knew a small % of humans had this potential lack of whatever enzyme or apparatus needed for the session to work, but 5 - 10 % seems awful high, like to learn more about that for sure. Okay, I have led by example and broken many rules of staying on topic and all - so, I humbly return this thread to its proper itinerary and request other members be more considerate than I've been Aloha ~ Cal (yes you may abbreviate this, with my blessing)

Nice to meet you Samyama & welcome So, in the Spirit of DIY - I nominate...one of you guys...to break ground on developing a glossary of terms and definitions so our burgeoning family will have the convenience of a click without needing to go elsewhere and interrupt whatever thread or idea they are on. This would be super helpful to the many (me included) ~
Hey gus_rests, we had a very good ibogaine glossary published just yesterday, take a look here https://x.com/ibogaine_club/status/2112301857359933442
Hi, I have read that too, but if you didn't have the enzymes to metabolize Ibogaine, I doubt you would have had the flood you had. Some can be pretty chaotic and dark before you get to the introspective stage. As far as craving a joint, there are just some things it doesn't seem Ibo works for as well as it does others. Nicotine and benzos seem to be two of them, in my experience anyways. I know some have wanted to smoke pot during their flood. Pot may be another thing that you may not loose a craving for, some rather enjoy it after a flood. Were you trying to quit smoking pot? roxine
Very Good Book, that is where I read it too... someone borrowed it from me so I couldn't look up what % they had said. It does seem a little high though, I think if it were that high, more folks would have no luck using it as treatment. Hmmm. possibly these same 5%-10% would not be addicts or seeking it for some reason.
I've always had some insomnia occasionally, but even from just microdosing am noticing more insomnia.
