Cardiac concerns vs. treatment benefits - how did you decide?
I'm 42, been dealing with opioid addiction for years now, and I'm seriously considering ibogaine treatment. The potential for actually addressing the root of this thing is appealing, but I keep coming back to the cardiac risks. I've read about QT prolongation and the deaths that have occurred, and it's hard to know how to weigh that against the possibility of real recovery.
For those who went through with it, how did you personally work through that risk calculation? Did pre-treatment cardiac screening give you enough confidence, or was there still a leap of faith involved?
