Dreams after ibogaine - part of healing or just side effects?
I have been researching ibogaine as a treatment option for opioid addiction and keep coming across people mentioning vivid dreams in the weeks or months after treatment. Some describe these as meaningful, almost like continuing the work that started during the ceremony itself. Others seem to brush them off as just a neurological side effect.
I am 42, from Canada, and have struggled with opioid addiction for years. The idea of a treatment that keeps working through your subconscious is honestly both appealing and a little intimidating. I want to understand what I might be getting into.
For those who have been through ibogaine treatment, did your dreams change afterward? Were they unsettling or helpful? And did you find ways to actually use them in your recovery, like journaling or talking through them with someone? I am curious whether this is something to prepare for or if it varies a lot from person to person.
