Hello

Hello everybody, I am a 26 yr old male from the states, whom first tried Iboga on easter of 2012.  I came to try Iboga after all else failed in combating my serious depression and addiction to drugs.  By the time I had turned to Iboga, my main struggle was with Suboxone/ antihistamines (diphenhydramine).  A series of events led me toward Iboga and a specific group of people doing treatments in Mexico.  I was told to switch from the Buprenorphine to a shorter acting opiate, so I decided to go with Kratom. I stayed on Kratom for a month, then it was off to Mexico.  I was very nervous for obvious reasons, I had never been out of the country, I went alone, and I was going to take one of the strongest substances on earth.  The people who treated me did a very good job at making me comfortable and calm.  It was a house type of setting, as opposed to a clinic setting.  So on the first day there, they gave me one capsule of root bark, which ended up being a lot stronger than I was expecting, and actually kind of laid me out for about 4 hrs, in an introspective daze.  I came out even more nervous about the flood dose, telling the providers I wasn't sure about taking the full flood.  That night, as I was falling asleep, a squirrel some how got loose in my bed, and I caught it under the sheets.  When I lifted up the sheets nothing was there.  The next day I told my providers about this, and they said they were going to catch all my "squirrels" for me.  How sweet of them.                  The day of the treatment I woke up very nervous.  I went through a few ceremonial motions that my providers and I set up, and then when I was ready began eating the Ibogaine.  The experience started like the previous day, and built as I took more Ibogaine.  By the time the whole room was buzzing and my blood was boiling I did not want to eat the last capsule, but they convinced me it was for the better to do so, so I did.  I am glad I did.  I was all of the sudden thrust through the hallways of my consciousness and into an abyss of memories, spirits, and other dimensions, that I could only equate to death.  I had I distinct feeling in my chest that I felt was being communicated to me through the dead collective (my ancestors).  These spirits were telling me that I am loved, have always been loved, and will always be loved, and that I need to love myself and others this way.  It was a very rough experience, and I had a very hard time letting go and letting the Iboga work on and with me.  I did not puke, but did a lot of dry heaving.  This started around 5pm, and went on into the night.  Due to time dilation I am not sure when I went from the oneiric visionary phase into the reflective phase, but it must have been at least past midnight.  The whole experience went on into the next night.  Right before I got my first sleep I had a panic attack of sorts, so they gave me valium and gave me reassurance that I was going to be fine.  I wasn't sure if I fell asleep, even though the providers said I was snoring, I was rather floating above my body, observing it in complete bliss.              Unfortunately, I cannot finish this post because I must go to work for a few hours.  Ugggh. I will finish when I get off.

Ok.   So I just realized that I already introduced myself last year and probably should have posted this somewhere else on the forum.  ooops.  I am still trying to familiarize myself with this site.  I'll stop the story there.  I just want to add, that Iboga taught me who I really am, and for that I am eternally grateful.

It is a blessing to have people to share these things with, who can understand where you are coming from.  It means a whole lot to me.
