Here I am

Hey gang. I'm a new member and would like to start by saying thanks to the community and the folks that run Ibogaine.club. This is a very unique site and I'm glad I found it.  I have high expectations of you all of which I am sure you will live up to with minimal effort on your part  . From the research I have done so far I feel very strongly that the use of Iboga will fit my situation very well and it is my desire to become educated so I can get the most out of it. I really don’t see any other alternative for me so this is not just a passing fancy.  Im sure many of the questions I will present have already been answered here and i am reading to try to find those (feel free to link for the sake of repetition) but I am also looking for those answers as they apply specifically to my situation. Anyway, just to let you know a bit about me, an overview of my story goes something like this......  I took my first drug (pot) when I was 13yo (Thanks mom and dad for bringing drugs into the house  ). By 15 I was doing that along with alcohol, tripping on LSD and just about anything that was going around at the moment. When all my buddy’s were on 3 hits of acid I was on six. I tripped many times through my mid to late teens. I always had a good experience and hope that is somewhat of an indicator that I can cope well with exceptional mental experiences like Iboga (I hope). By the end of my teen years I had become addicted to cocaine and basically struggled with that over and over, treatment, bla bla bla until my mid 30's. I am 42 now. Even though I had to battle this I have still managed to live a productive life and become exceptional in my vocation (oh, I was also part of producing a wonderful child  ). I owe alot of my succes (survival) to my loving and dedicated wife of 17 years. without her, well.....lets not go there. No matter how bad things got (and they got bad) I have always loved life and never contemplated taking my own. About 5 years ago I started messing with the opiods and stupid me didnt see the noose tightening around my neck. Actually it started legitamate with cough medicine for a reoccurring sinus infection. But no excuses. not like I didnt know I was an addict but thats how the addiction works. shortly after realizing this was way out of control I began an outpatient program. The treatment center put me on buprenorpine (suboxone). A couple weeks of that and me complaining it was’nt working well enough (typical addict) they put me on  methadone which I took for a year. I decided that meth was bad and Buprenorphine was better (yea right, I fell for the bullshit they were spewing) so i went back on Bupe and have been there ever since. Actually it has worked pretty well for me from a standpoint of passifying the inner addict and atleast allowing me function with out seeking elicit substances. I do realize that it has deadined a part of me and I want it back. I am also getting to the point where I have had enough of the side effects.  I have always felt that the root of my addiction was something far deeper than simply being hooked on drugs as my addictive behaviour went beyond intoxicants into porn, hobbies and even work. It’s a problem at the foundation I cant quite put my finger on and the generally accepted methods of treating addiction never seemed to work except for abstinence from drug use (for periods of time). I could go on and on but I guess the point is I screwed up the wiring along time ago and it needs something dramatic to fix it or at least help steer it down the right path. I can handle not using drugs ever again and not overdoing other things but for the sake of sanity something needs to change at the core.  I do have some questions that I haven’t found answers for yet. And they are -I am a Christian and have some concerns that going through  a spiritual experience with Iboga may present some type of conflict. Not really sure what I am asking exactly but would welcome thoughts on this situation as it appears we may be mingling in the spirit work with Iboga. -If I tapered off of Buprenorphine and then stopped I would expect a long period of time having sexual dysfunction i.e. become very sensitive and would’nt last but a short time before orgasm. Knowing that Iboga can reduce a lot of the nastys of the withdrawal process how does it effect this aspect?  May seem like some silly first questions but these are important to me. I love Jesus and I love being intamate with my wife I originally was planning to go to one of these Ibogaine treatment centers but after reading here I’m thinking self administration may bring a better chance of success and continued treatment so I will be exploring that option. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I appreciate your comments in advance
