Iboga as MAOI in ayahuasca?
Caapi and Iboga can be brewed together . -harvey p
Good question poly. I don't know anyone who's done it yet - but I've heard it postulated before. The idea that Iboga can act as an inhibitor that is.. Hopefully someone else here might have some more insight to this, because if it would work I think that could be a very interesting, and probably extemely healing concoction. As for Ibogahuasca, the combination of B. Caapi (or Rue) and Iboga.. There are a few reports about people having tried that over on the Nexus, and they were mostly positive. However, you need to exercise extreme caution if you try that. The amount of Iboga that you need when inhibited is very very small. There was one guy.. I forget who, but a friend of GratefulDad's if I recall correctly, who took some Iboga with harmalas.. I think it was only a couple of grams of root bark, if I remember right. Whatever it was, it was a small dose of Iboga, with a moderate amount of harmalas.. And he said it was a very intense, terrifying experience - and for awhile he was pretty afraid he may have taken too much. But ya, as for your question Poly, I'm not sure.. I swear I saw a thread somewhere where someone was asking the same thing.. Or maybe it was just discussed in Nexus chat. However, I just did a quick search looking around for any information on Ibogaine HCL's action as any type of MAO inibitor, and couldn't find any.
I only brew3-6 grams Iboga root bark with around 100 -150 grams caapi . i have never used that much Iboga . its very nice . i love that caapi in the mix . I was told by a wise man when i started doing this brew that i dont want or need to add much Iboga too . be minimal and have a safe journey . - hp
It would not make the DMT plants orally active. I think one should only consider adding very small doses of root bark to their brews - a pinch like a few g's to the whole tea - the effects probably similar to shiric sanango?
