Ibogaine and Phobias

A lot has been said on Ibogaine in relation to addiction, but not that much is said about its ability to cure phobias.  I assume that Ibogaine has the same curative effect by revealing and dealing with unresolved issues that led to the phobia in the first place.  Do people on here know of any research on Ibogaine and phobias?  Failing that, do people have any personal stories about how Ibogaine got rid of their phobias?  Also, if phobias do go, how long do they go away for? Thanks in advance.

I wanted to update this thread as I think it is important for other people who might be interested to know more. I flooded 2 weeks on a low dose (probably about 15mg/kg but it could be a bit higher or lower).  The experience was positive and I find that I understand the purpose and meaning of my life much more clearly now. I am continously getting small insights and even getting small Iboga tingles (especially after heavy exercise) but it has not got rid of my phobia/panic reaction(high heart rate, not able to think clearly, adrenaline rus) to public speaking.  I actually realised this straight after my dose as I had similar feelings and thoughts when thinking about the prospect of public speaking. I do not know if it is because I didn't get a 'full' reset at a high dose (ie. 20-25mg/kg), or because Iboga doesn't work as simply as eradicating the phobia/reaction in one easy step, or because Iboga doesn't work at all.  I will be flooding again in the future, at a higher dose, and will report back my observations.

That may be a complex issue, alessandra11.  If one could resolve the issue attached to the phobia, internally, under an Ibogaine experience, I can see it possibly helping.  I would't think that there would be a guaranteed result to be free of any phobias, but it is certainly possible.  I think a phobia is a type of negative memory that gets ingrained in the mind and certain experiences and environments may bring back that anxiety and fear.

HI, me and my husband are working with Borderline disorder... so phobias is in the ¨similar¨ bucket. I would recomment full flood, and then followed with therapy. Microdosing is difficult, we do it, but it is more laborious when it comes to daily psychological work... roxine_writes

Interesting Jox.  And what kind of success do you have with Borderline Personality Disorder patients (e.g. success rate, average duration of cure)?

Thanks to sunnyhawk and Jox for your replies.  Just in case other people ever visit this site for treatment of Iboga for phobias, I have since gone and spoken to a couple of people who are experts in treatment and it would appear that Ibogaine does work.  Phobias are derived from fears, and Iboga helps to explore and overcome those fears.  After I've had my flood, I will give an update on how it has helped for mine. So much emphasis is put on addiction treatment, but I think it is really useful to recognise Iboga's role in dealing with other problems like phobias, depression and other mental issues.
