Jogging post-flood

I just wanted to share an observation I have made after my flood, which others may find useful (or if you are not into exercise then read no further!).  I jog as a matter of course.  I tend to jog 25-30 mins a couple a times a week, but occasionally run 40-70 mins.  I have noticed after my Iboga flood that I get a stronger release of endorphins than before - I'd say twice as powerful as a rough measure - which is a very nice side effect and one that helps if you are in need of an injection of natural happy hormones.  This more powerful endorphin rush only seems to take place in me after 60 mins. I was curious and looked up the long-term action of ibogaine.  Apparently it is lipophilic and tends to store in fat tissues.  That makes sense.  Once you pass the 20-30 minute mark, your body starts switching to fat as a source of energy rather than sugar (hence why long distance jogging helps you lose that fat belly).  So it seems to me that if you run for more than 30 minutes, your body naturally burns fat which in turn releases small amounts of ibogaine into your system, which then turns into the pleasurable noribogaine, enhancing the endorphin rush after about an hour. I wonder if anyone else has had the same experience with cardio.  I'd be interested to read more.

I am finding that even though I basically had a failed flood I am starting to get the glow.  It has been 2 weeks and my endorphins are strong sometimes and I feel really good.  Other times I am anxious.  I bike and jog as well, however I don't have the energy to go at it like you do, at least not yet. Can someone please explain why 2 weeks later I feel the iboga is helping even though my first week or two was almost hellish. Thanks.

light, that is exactly how my first experience went after the methadone.  First two weeks I was shaky, used a couple times, and then finally decided it wasn't that bad and I wasn't gonna waste all that time and money I put into iboga.  After that I was clean for 5 years, without a single other dose.  It takes a little while for your body to get used to feeling everything again, then to adjust the endorphin system properly.. Jogging will boost endorphins, if you have the energy to do it.  For me I had no energy until after about a month.  After that, I began walking and riding my skateboard again, which definitely helped.  Getting out into the sun and walking around, getting more active not only helped me feel better, it also helped me start healthier habits, which are what you need to stay sober long term.

Yeah, my sponsor and friends in NA wonder WTF is up cuz they know that I am coming off of a 7 year habit and I am doing too good.  I just tell them it was all preparation and my healthy lifestyle

Hi Light, Glad your feeling better.  On my last flood it took a while but your over the bump now all ya got to do is not use.  Right, easier said than done.  I really think the combination of Ibo and NA go hand in hand, just don't try and convince them that addicts should detox with a illegal drug.  If your a smoker this could be the chance to quit the cigs. I wish you the best,   cinderpath
