Low dose aya without shaman

I was wondering do any of you take ayahuasca without a shaman present? I'm thinking about trying low dose around 3g mhrb and caapi. I hear though that the problem with doing it without a shaman is that while dark energies can be purged they can also enter if no shaman is present to ward them off... Thinking best way to prevent dark energies from entering would be to have my friend who went to Peru as a sitter and be out in nature at same time.... Thoughts? I'm lookin to prepare myself for leaving the United States and feeling comfortable enough to journey deep into the Peruvian amazon(I know I would have a lot of anxiety about doing this)...

If proceeding in this way I would say Mimosa Hostilas would be the most risky candidate.  She is a wild woman, although your dose of 3gr is quite a reasonable one, she can still be a bit wild.  I think you'll be fine though, especially considering you are proceeding with such caution and respect.  Making sure your surroundings and environment are in perfect place and well organized will help quell any unforseen anxieties and fears.  Having a well prescribed set of course of the way the ceremony will be conducted will also mitigate the fears that allow for negative energies to penetrate your chakras when they are opened up from Aya.  I think you've done a great job in preparing and wish you good luck on the course!

Which divine moments plant would you say is the least wild?

The Hawaiian Chacruna (10) from Maya at about 2-5gr (very specially grown or variety no one seems to know for sure how or why it is so good) Or Acacia Confusa RB anywhere in between 10-15gr -Personally I find Acacia Confusa to be very gentle even when strong whereas I have witness several people literally lose it from Mimosa Hostilas.  But for some Acacia Confusa is also very strong, I guess for me it still has such a motherly spirit that it is manageable.  Mimosa for me is like a Mom gone wild and it is notorious for having bad integration skills as well as producing hangovers.  Never had that problem with Chacruna or Acacia Confusa.  I know others feel different, this is just my experience as well as what I have witnessed first hand over and over again until I made these rationalizations.

That might explain why I was biting myself on 8gr of mhrb

Chacruna for sure - especially if you are going to Peru. I think this is probably the 'main' add mix for most brews there(?), it is all congealed in like little niches of geography - the whole length of the Amazon...not sure if chaliponga is indigenous to Peru, but I think it may be, that is big stuff - no assembly required, complete with 5 MeO DMT. Mimosa is found more in Brazil and that part of the continent. I have found viridis to be much gentler and more brilliant than mimosa even in strong doses. It is wonderful stuff and exquisitely beautiful... I have never done any Big Medicine with a shaman, and I am now at a point in my life where I simply cannot  take the mondo-doses I would like to explore without one. I have earned the right to be circumspect upon my epic fails. You are very correct, IMHO, about negative 'spirits/energies' call them whatever. As far as I'm concerned every inch of the impossible is real when you cross the veil like that.    I can vouch for what KP says about the rawness and wildness of mimosa, I did 300mg of mimosa extracted  DMT (3-100mg capsules) with 90grams of yellow caapi, and two hours into it I swore off everything forever. Again. Please do not ask me why I did it. I have no idea...probably just so I would never do it again? Who knows.   So there's the wrong way to go about it, in case anyone else was that stupid - which I doubt. Good prep work man, I wish you the best and safe travels, when will you be going?
