New here, 2 months from first flood, questions

Hey all, I have read so much of what has been posted on this and other forums and gotta say that researching ibogaine is no joke. There is so much information and different factors to digest, especially when educating yourself for your own treatment. I finally registered today on iboga and am excited to learn more from you all. I have been planning my treatment for about one year. I have been on suboxone for 4 1/2 years but took my last dose two weeks ago. I transitioned to poppy pods and so far so good. It is insane how long suboxone stays on your receptors. Until day 11 off suboxone I hadn't felt any effects of the poppy pods, they were just keeping me from withdrawing, but on day 11 or so I started to barely feel an opiate warmth or buzzing. I am going to stay on the pods for about 2 months before my flood dose, I may go longer just to be safe. Some say two weeks, some say 4 months. (thoughts ?) My biggest concern is that I will be doing the flood at home. I hear some good things but a lot of bad things about self treatment so I'm pretty scared (hence the crazy amounts of research) but like so many other people I can't even begin to afford treatment at a clinic. I'm most nervous about the sitter situation. I have plenty of close friends and family who would be willing to do it for me but I just don't want anyone being freaked out or calling 911 when all is ok. I am bookmarking every bit of info I can find for my sitters and will go over everything in detail the weeks prior to the flood, but does anyone have any pointers or thoughts on the whole self treatment and/or sitter thing? Thank you all in advance and for all of your experiences too. I am so excited to be done with suboxone, it has changed me as a person and made me a hermit and has caused depression and dissociative symptoms that started after about two years on it. Anyone else experience the negative personality and mood changes due to suboxone? thanks - thornback

Smart. I felt the pods instantly and they were stronger than the suboxone in my case, although I was down to .5mg of bupe.  What dose did you jump from?  For me, the warm and fuzzy was there from the start and lasted the entire time and I pretty much held the same dose throughout my 35 days.  My opinion is that 2 months should be fine (depending on your final sub dose), just be sure that you are in full withdrawal before beginning the flood.  Also, really learn your iboga dosing needs and method of dosing, confirm it with folks on here to reach a consensus.  My feeling is that it would be wise to switch to norcos, oxys or straight morphine for the last week or so prior to the flood since this will allow withdrawal to set in much quicker. I was going to suggest educating your sitter(s), but you're already planning on that.  Good for you. You are welcome.  Being off of sub is awesome.  I was on it for 3.5 years starting at 32mg.  I never had the negative effects you speak of, but I felt trapped in addiction still, although I could function and live life.  My emotions were slightly dampened.  NA helped me a lot (few knew I was on sub).  Without it I probably would've experienced more of the negative aspects.  There was some depression, but that was mostly due to the feeling of being trapped.  I never really had mood changes. Welcome, welcome, welcome.  Good to have you here. By the way, I am no expert, but I have a small amount of experience with some of these things as you can see.
