Post Iboga anorexia?

The general consensus from reading people's experiences with Iboga is there is a period of roughly a week where people sleep and eat a lot less. I believe I can handle the insomnia, as that is something I've dealt with most of my life, and has been constant since detoxing off Suboxone (1 month today!). The not eating has me a little worried. I've always been thin, and have trouble putting on weight. I've lost a lot of weight in the last year changing my diet to address GI issues (I've had to eliminate gluten and dairy while adding a lot more meat and high-quality fats and vegetables). I've lost even more weight detoxing off of Suboxone (off 1 month today!), and my digestive system still has not healed from the withdrawal and trying to normalize after over 6 years of opiates slowing it down, so that has been frustrating.  I'm wondering for the people that haven't eaten much post-Iboga flood, is it just from simply having no appetite, or does food make them nauseous or give them GI problems? I know people say their appetite does return, often with a vengeance (but for healthy foods) but I'd like to avoid as much weight loss as possible. Can one simply force one's self to eat more during this time, or is a little weight loss just a price of the Iboga treatment? Does Iboga help with the post-opiate digestive issues? N.B. I am not detoxing off of an opiate, but hoping it can help some with the PAWS I'm experiencing, as well as give me insight into my life.

You may just not have much of an appetite, it shouldn't give you any GI issues.  Some people have no problem eating light meals after a flood, I personally don't feel like food for about three days but I have always had eating issues, even not coming down from an Iboga flood I have gone days eating very little.  I doubt it will be 5 days before your appetite comes back.  If you are concerned about it, make one of Blue Tigers 'Green Lightning' drinks under the diets and recipes board, it was the first thing I got down after my last flood and got my appetite back on track... really any good smoothie will do, but having some raw veggies in there will be beneficial.   roxine

I concur with lala on the smoothie and live foods bit... However I will add to the whole everyone will respond differently... for instance, tho I had awesome providers and crew of sitters, the first chance I had , I "snuck" my wobbly way to the fridge and chowed down.. I tend to have a voracious appetite after a flood and make up for it by weeks of little or restless sleep. but like all things, the healthier and  nutrient based foods, the smoother the ease into landing a good recovery.. IMHO

Yes,  I have seen some who need food right after the flood, I just can't do it...everyone is different but I wouldn't worry about it so much, you will eat when you need to... and your appetite will come back... since you seem to have a faster metabolism you most likely will want food soon after.  roxine
