Post ibogaine stress - how do you deal with it?

I'm not sure if other people have come across this - but I've a good feeling there is a pretty consistent post Ibogaine stress. The stress that comes from kicking your bad habits, going just past the glow, and seeing the crapola that your bad habits/addictions/behaviours/avoidance, societal/personal self worth and deservedness mindsets and limiting beliefs have created. The dreams that we pissed on thinking we would do them 'someday', the problems we now have to solve because of all the avoidant behaviours of yesterday, and so on and so forth. With every passing day I see the train wreck that I was regularly propagating, that has now built up in the background. It's solveable, but there's a lot to be solved. In the past this was the exact reason I would start smoking the cannabis again. I'd stop for a few days, and once the stark realities of the outside world and all the shite I had to start dealing with crept up, I would have the cannabis to almost tranquilise me and get me into an alternate reality where taxes, bills, life goals, ambitions didnt exist and I lived through one big hedonic pause where I didn't make progress in my life (apart from knowledge, and travel, and maybe becoming a better person i.e. treating people a whole lot better, and an insight into myself - so wasnt a total failure - but but but..) apart from what I just mentioned within brackets, and etc etc etc. And a lot of shite not getting done, that would cause and is causing problems and stress over the longer term. A stich in time would definitely have saved nine. Sure, I have to surrender to the bliss of the present moment, and aim for the best possible future. But the housekeeping HAS to get done, and I have to remove as much of the cumulative stressors building up, so I make space for living the beautiful life of my dreams.

hi vividmeadow80 well what's done is done - you've made your bed and unfortunately, you're going to have to lie in it. Ibogaine or no, this is stuff that needs to be dealt with. at least you have a good handle on a lot of the things that need to be addressed, particularly the financial ones. It sounds to me like you're falling into the same trap that I've often fallen into. You get overwhelmed by the sheer scale of what needs to be done - it's no wonder people turn to drugs/alcohol/sex/internet etc for escape. You can't fix it all at once so instead of trying to hold it all in your head at once, just take a small bite of it - tackle one thing at a time - maybe re route your mail (how hard can that be?) then just put enough money in your bank account to stop your overdraft from increasing every month. Make a list and order it in terms of difficulty if possible then just go through it and start crossing stuff off the list. Hang in there and don't let it get to you - like you said, its all solvable. You've lived through it for this long, you can handle it a little longer. Dig deep and believe in yourself. I really like BT's signature "You must transform before the psychedelic experience can be transformative". So here's your chance - are you going to take it? take care

Sup zing. i relate to ur view on ur affairs.. i also need to work on o so many things. sometimes it can easily get overwhelming. iv had almost no capability of dealing with my problems before my flood.. and even now sometimes i slip into getting slightly depressed thinking about how much stuff i have let accumulate. what helps me is to take a step back and to re-evaluate any given problem from the perspective of the bigger picture.. much like your mind seems to work in the thinking part of a flood. and much like it should in general imo. like you said, its all solvable... keep ur eyes on the prize. risk it for the biscuit ^^ I remember reading somewhere that when you put something off, as in, say that you will do it later.. trying to forget about it.. It actually triggers a reaction in your brain that is akin to that of anxiety, and your brain releases the same stuff as when u worry. So even if you are not feeling it, and deciding to take the "easy" route, chilling until you have to face your worry.. you are stressing your brain. This stress builds up. tackling these problems, stressing for the right reasons at the right time, and finally succeeding - i think that's how we grow. i agree with entheo.. one step at a time. think its a matter of practise, and eventually just being use to it liek it aint a thing. dealing with shit until you are so quick at tackling "problems" they aren't even real problems any more, just things that need to be dealt with. everyone has those. they aren't meant to be blocking us from life.. but they aren't meant to go away either.. there will always be something, that requires some attention on our part. bumps on the road. we stop paying attention to them.. it's easy to stumble. we watch our step.. can also enjoy the scenery. and even the kinks. thanks for brining up these thoughts in me with your post. and good luck with your path friend.. fair winds and following seas

Hi vividmeadow80, One of the beautiful things about Iboga is that it does seem to show you where you are going wrong and tell you what you should change in your life.  The hard part is acting on them and learning/setting new patterns  I really like this: I have been working on this myself lately, having some financial stress because my work is seasonal, I am just not allowing myself to stress out about it, I know it will change, just not happening quick enough, but knowing it will change, I am deciding not to worry.  I think this mindset works. Maybe start small, force yourself to get things done that need done and try to start a pattern of it,  I know it is easier said than done! Blue Tiger just introduced me to this guy, and I just ordered this book, even though I didn't really have the money.. (got it used for cheap)  I have listened to this a few times in the last couple of days. It makes SO much damned sense!  Why did I suffer for so long? I Highly recommend this, you may have heard it as I seem to be late in getting to know who this man is, but if so, listen again   There is also a second part to this that you must listen to as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PCSe2cqY_w roxine

thanks for posting this link - I have a hard time reading ET's books - there's something about his style of writing that makes me feel like I'm trying to walk through molasses - what he takes a page to say could be done in a couple of sentences and judging by the reviews on Amazon, I'm not the only one who feels that way! However the Pain Body vids I found right on the money - story of my frigging life if truth be told. Will need to listen to them several times to imprint the message.

thanks for that lalababa. that Power of Now has been responsible for more people embarking on a search for enlightement, and has kickstarted more awakenings than any other book on the face of the planet. So much magic (and healing) in one book its incredible. I must read it again.
