Psychosomatic Illness or Systematic Illness

Along these lines....... The very first symptoms of many systemic illnesses can be mental/mood related, the mind often knows that something's wrong before the body shows symptoms. I know this personally, in the year before my fiancé was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer he experienced a host of psychiatric symptoms including profound depression and a deep sense of fatalism. it was not until later until we realized the true cause of the symptoms. So, assuming something is really wrong.......it may have started some time ago and may be related to the symptoms that lead you to experiment with ibogaine. Frankly I'd have an easier time taking missjess seriously if I could find something indicating that ANY substance or toxin could cause motor neuron degeneration 3 months after ingestion.

Speaking of pancreatic cancer, I saw today on Dr. Oz interviewing Dr. Drew Pinksy on his pancreatic cancer.  It's kinda humiliating for a doctor ego to see another doctor, but that is eventually what he did thanks to his nagging wife....and had to go through a battery of tests until a biopsy finally revealed the cancer. So I'm not knocking seeing a shaman, but that has its limitations.  Even shamans go visit other shamans under their training to gain healing techniques.  Doctors do the same. Also I am reminded of one of the pioneers in cybershamanism, Terence McKenna.  Sometimes it is prudent to get your head checked with a brain specialist. lynnet edit:  it's prostate cancer, my mistake

My apologies for the typo, should read: Psychosomatic Illness or Systemic Illness I personally find it worthy of it's own thread as I think Missjess' condition is possibly of this order rather than the fault of Iboga.

It started straight away as soon as I got out of the hospital bed for your information I already said that I noticed diminished nerves but I didn't think much of it. It's not my mind...it's not depression...I was healthy as an oxe Sure you can go around thinking that this was not triggered by iboga but it was there is absolutely no neurological problems within my family, NOTHING

I have only ever done flood with 2 grams of iboga and I was fine, did not once feel "diminished nerves or neurons within my body" It only happened after I done the 3 gram flood and it's clear to me it was way to much for my body to handle...apparently motor neuron is caused by an injury in the brain stem (cerebellar)
