questions

Hello everyone I've thought about posting for a while so here goes... I heard about Iboga about 9 months ago when I was planning my first Ayahuasca journey and it still intrigues me.  I always hear about it being used to cure drug addiction but what are the benefits for people who don't have such "extreme" problems?  What if you just want to change your life and fulfill your potential and be a more well-rounded person?  I'm in my mid 30's and there are so many things I haven't done and don't do in my everyday life that "normal" people do.  I suppose you could say that I've lived an "impoverished" lifestyle in that I've always been repressed and been a bit of a recluse...even though I feel I can be so much more! Ayahuasca is an amazing medicine but it's so seldom that I have the chance to journey...and I feel that I'm being called to take Iboga as well (it keeps coming into my mind time after time).  Also someone recommended that I should take it. I also read that people feel tired and have no energy for a few months after a flood dose and I was wondering if this is only the case with heroin addicts or does it have that effect on everyone?  Sorry for such a long post but any info and advice would be appreciated Thank you, TS

Hi TS, After a flood you feel tired and fatigued for a good week but if your doing it for spiritual reasons or because you feel it will help you then it is not so hard on ya. Nice having ya here,   cinderpath

Thanks cinderpath Last thing I need is to be out of action for a long time-so much to do.  I think I should post my other questions in the "general" section. Take care TS

Welcome TS! The place sometimes moves in fits and starts as it were - but people certainly will reply to your questions. This is a pretty vague and generally obscure 'branch' of entheography - Iboga. It has swelled massively in popularity and interest over the past five years. Glad to have you around and maybe pose those queries in the general discussions as you said - maybe quicker replies. In short - iboga is used to amazing effect for the reasons you are concerned with. And the recovery time is typically far less than it is for a chemical dependency detox. The whole experience is less taxing IME. Very good to have you - hope you like the place, stick around!

hello TS i have had the Iboga awakening/reset.  i also assist in reset ceremonies.  i also do private ceremonies for couples and for small groups in their own home or with me in my sanctuary.  these are for people wishing to deepen their connection with their own divinity or for their own psychospiritual development. i would say that it is the ceremonial setting that is the crucible in which the consciousness of the Wood can work so deeply, safely and thoroughly.  a lot of preparation goes into each celebrants approach to this profound Teacher before, during and after the ceremony.  i have not come across any long-term debilitation resulting from taking the Wood in this context.  very often people have to be at work the day after the w/e - and are more present and relaxed, and in touch with the beauty of their existence.  the Wood works in them for many months after the initiation, teaching and guiding and revealing all the while. Iboga - or the Wood (as it is affectionately known) is a truly outstanding guide and teacher and i am constantly in awe of its intelligence and grace. many of the Family who go through the Wood initiation have prepared themselves with ayahuasca ceremonies.  the two medicines are a marriage made in heaven.  the one works from the solar plexus up - and the other, the Wood, works from the solar plexus down.  Iboga gets to the root of the problem.  i dont know where you are but if you can get to some ayahausca ceremonies then i suggest you do so.  ask her to prepare you to meet the consciousness of the Wood.  then, when you feel the time is right, find someone holding a Wood reset/initiation. all the best in your endeavours. in truth and beauty and with love berry36

Hello All Let me just say that this is such a great forum and I find myself checking it everyday (when possible)for new posts... Gloria Deo, thanks for replying to my original post. It's strange that I never saw your reply-probably because it was some time after the last post...I only logged into my account today for the first time in almost a year and saw that there was another reply (usually I just check the "recent posts" without logging in). I ended up with 4 grams of TA and because I couldn't get a sitter, I just took about 1.5 grams twice-maybe more the first time.  The first time I was on my own and I took it about 4pm.  I had very "weak" visuals and music and saw all the people I hurt (and I thought I was such a good guy ) but it wasn't as powerful an experience as it could have been had I taken the full 4gr.  I felt bad the next day (depressed) but a few days later I felt more positive and confident.  Then, a week later, I took the same dose or slightly less and it didn't go so well...my girlfriend was there and she stressed me out and we had an argument after I took the dosage.  I heard a buzzing sounds and "sounds of the forest"- like frogs and chirping, etc. but I felt more anxious and went back to lacking confidence after this...probably the setting messed it up and also low dosage. I'm okay now though (about a month later)-just feel a bit indifferent or abnormally calm (or something)...maybe it's just the same problems reminding me that they're still there.  However, as I said, I do feel more calm about things. First time, I vomited after about 5 hours...second time, I wanted to vomit after the same time period but managed to keep it down (next morning first thing I went to the toilet and threw up). In conclusion, I'm really intrigued...the first time, I remember thinking that Iboga definitely has a real intelligence about it Something about the experience really struck me and I thought "Wow, this medicine is something else.." Even on a low dose. I wanted to do a full flood because I thought it would be better to do all or nothing...but I realised that it wasn't possible-this is not something to be taken lightly... Now, I feel like I definitely want to do a proper flood dose in the next few months- I will try to find a sitter somehow. PS: I mixed my TA with yoghurt on the advice of IW and it made Aya seem like honey (well almost)  Should have had them encapsulated for sure. Take care, Everyone
