Technical papers on the action of Ibogaine'

I threw a temper tantrum, so now you don't get to see what I wrote...

Nice additions man. Glad to have this noted, I felt the first time I did it that it was MAOI - even before I tried some spice on the tail end of an ibo trip...not that that is a very scientific model, but I know what other plant source MAOI's 'do' and feel like, and the similarities are substantial.

Aha!  Here is where ibogaine is called an MAOI  --  Naranjo was a shrink, not a pharmacologist.  He could have been wrong.  The last citation in the paper was 1991, so it was written sometime after that.  Not exactly current wisdom. I have looked hard and long, but can find no mention in any scientific paper that ibo is an MAOI.  Nowadays, that is very easy to establish.  Just because Naranjo said so back in 1969 does not convince me. Can anyone find a recent paper that states ibogaine is an MAOI?  I, for one, would love to see it!   ~e PS  --  Found this reference "Barrass, B. C. and Coult, D. B. "Interaction of some centrally active drugs with ceruloplasmin.", Biochemical Pharmacology" but can't find the actual article. Holy Cow!  That means ibo would make spice orally active!  Let me know how it was after you try it, Cal!

Well, thank you. I'm learning everyday, and finding out more about the myriad of chemicals in me, you and the world. I have a friend who works with the 2c's, you know if any study has been done on that and any similarities to ibo there? (I have done no research on 2c's myself, and maybe I should) B

The 2c's line of substances seem interesting in it's effects, but I did hear about the possible heavy physical effects, which seem unpleasant.  Think I'll pass for the moment.....intriguing phenethylamine nonetheless.  Enjoying Kava tea for the moment....peace!

I learn how much I have to learn. The friend who works with 2c's I met at the psychedelic 'Spore' (the name for an Evolver meeting). He was interesting to me because he was very centered, and a proponent of no drug being illegal. Ya, I talk best with plants. There is nothing like Iboga, tho, in all the world. For me. I've now derailed this off of 'Technical papers on the action of Ibogaine' Now I'm going to go look up betacarboline and phenethylamine. T

Hey Nobu -would this also be an indicator of ibogaine's potential as an MAOI? The harmalas are beta-carbolines and very strong MAOI's.
