First timer flooding this weekend.
Hello vividmeadow80, I think you will gain a lot from Iboga, but PLEASE, PLEASE, have a sitter! roxine
I'm in the UK and have asked around, but it's a pretty anti social place and I haven't gotten anyone to agree to sit with me. All doing their own thing, and even if they were free, I doubt they'd sit with me. And definitely not for 36 hours. I've done ayahuasca on my own several times, and I don't really have a choice with this, unless I choose not to do it. Which isn't an option for me.
Why is this not an option for you? You are not detoxing so I doubt this is a life or death thing for you. I don't think anyone here would recommend that you go ahead with it without a sitter, you haven't done this before so you have no idea how the medicine will affect you. Have you read any of the horror stories about people going in alone?. Please read this thread: http://Ibogaine.club/index.php?topic=1721.0
Contact berry36... Don't be an idiot get a sitter. She's in your country where Iboga is legal and she's on this forum as well. She has a lot of experience and a great deal of reverence for healing. I do Aya on my own quite a bit but I would be a disrespectful reckless irreverent dumbass to have an iboga initiation on my own. I've even compromised on sitters before which I strongly recommend against as well. Only the best to insure the best. Get all your cards lined up and delay your journey if you have any sense left. I don't give a rat's ass about your "psychonaughtica" past. Iboga is altogether something unique and extraordinarly ufo like potent to drill your brain with deep incisions and resets. In fact throw all your psychonaughtica past out the door unless you use potent Banisteriopsis (especially Muricata) in your Aya brews with strong light (not Mimosa Hostilas as this is a wild demon). This is what would barely compare, barely. I do Kambo on a regular basis and am scared shitless of that ordeal, but to put things into perspective for you, I am much more scared when I flood on Iboga. So take heed.
Kambohuasca, thats three times you can be calling me names and speaking to me in that tone of voice. The first time, the last time and never again. If you can't speak to me in a civil manner, I (like pretty much anyone else) would rather not hear from you. Just like my lesson learnt is sitter, your lesson learnt is civil tone. I've also had kambo on occasions before, and would be happy to do it again. roxine, I've arranged for someone who is a few hundred metres away, she can't sit with me as she is at a pretty peaceful job, and who has agreed to come and have a looksee if I do have any issues. She is a wonderful person, and I probably will call on her anyways to see a friendly face. Thank you for your concern. I also have a friend I will call who I can speak to. I aim to have half first and gradually have the rest through the next few hours. I have spoken to a lot of spirits before, and am comfortable with them. I know Iboga is completely different, but I'm in a good head space, as bancopuma said, I look like how people look like coming out from the other side. I wish you would wish me well, but I do fear thats too much to expect. I shall get more preaching. And if I do come back okay, I'll get - you were lucky. No winning here. But the point isnt winning. It's normal civil encouragement I would love to expect i.e. if you cant get a sitter to sit with you, then there are people who do it without sitters (and we have been among them), and though it isn't recommended, these are the things they often bear in mind. But hey, cant expect an ideal world.
Of course we wish you well, that is why we must recommend a sitter, no one is trying to "Win" or going to say "You were lucky" we just want you to be safe. I bet you could find someone to be there for the majority of it, I sat for someone before flooding myself, not only did I find it fascinating to be there, it isn't that hard of a job, just being there to make sure you are okay, they don't necessarily have to sit in a dark room with you for the duration, someone in another room to look/listen/check in on you and help you when you need to get up and if something unlucky were to happen. In most cases you will be able to walk again in much less than 36 hours. You know how we all feel, I wish you well and hope you can have someone there. Is there a reason you can't wait until you have someone committed to being there? My guess is that you know someone who would be interested in seeing what it is all about. roxine
If you check it I wasn't calling you names. But if you flooded without a sitter than you would fit the bill. I personally will never encourage or agree with people so naive as to flood solo. Granted you might be fine but you might not, there in lies why I so strongly advocate for safety. Keep talking to me like that and I'll be sure to not back down. I personally think the forum should ban people that go on without a sitter and than brag about it (as you surely will if all goes ok).
Hey vividmeadow80 - I'd like you to consider this flood from another angle. Look at the tradition of the Bwiti initiation - its like a week long affair with the whole frigging village involved - dancing and singing and helping the initiates through it. While I've yet to come across anyone who can recreate anything close to this outside of Gabon (although I think your nemesis KP gets it about as close as anyone without inviting all his friends over..!) It really isn't something to just go off and do on your own. I really would encourage you to try to create a more Bwiti based flood - you've got the time, why rush it? Find the right person and let them share the experience with you. The folks on this board have seen many people crash & burn - Iboga is like nothing else and that is why the warning bells are being sounded loudly - it is being done out of concern for you even if you don't appreciate tough love. After some of the horror stories that have turned up on here, I am not in the least bit surprised that no one is offering the encouragement to flood on your own which apparently is what you seek - it is such a dangerous thing to do that it goes against everything that folks on here believe in. To do that would be irresponsible of us.
Yes, entheo is right on all points _again_ .. but especially here...we just want you to be safe. roxine
Thank you. So much more palatable. I shall get myself a sitter, even if they wont sit in all the time, Ill make sure they check in on me every hour or two. Will get two different sitters to share the load too. As they have their own weekend lives. I was speaking to my ancestors, and told them I'd like to do it alone, and asked them to take care of me, and they quite clearly told me to get a sitter. If not all the time, at least for a significant portion i.e. most of the time. Haha, KP isnt my nemesis. He's a beautiful human being like everyone else. If I were to pass judgement, he appears stuck up, and head up his arse, with a holier than thou attitude, and repetitively rude even to other people on here. But they are all sins I have been guilty of myself. Even on a daily basis at times, so who am I to point fingers. One good thing is he has lowered my expectations, because if after all that healing if he still is the way he is - then maybe my rebirth intent is a bit too much. So yes, will get a sitter. Please no patronising, great you came to your senses posts. Anything new you guys have to say would be much appreciated.
Welcome to Ibogaine Club! Know that the people who are talking to you here have experience, compassion, and a love for this life changing experience. If we see people disrespect the tradition, you WILL hear about it. It is good to know you will have a sitter! I have always had a sitter on all of my floods. It sounds like entheogens have been teachers for some time for you. Join the club! It's great to have you here. I look forward to hearing about your journey and all the manifestations you bring from it as the season's change. Expectations are a funny thing. You may think you know yourself, Iboga may tell you otherwise. It's okay to have expectations, but hold them loosely. I recommend avoiding all drama days before and after your flood. Before hand is time for you to gather yourself (meditate, journal...), whereas after will be putting together the pieces... Let us know if you have questions. Journey well Zingdoozer!
Really I don't consider your sentiments worth anything and you obviously have missed the point frequency that these medicines deliver. Iboga in particular is the most stern upfront teacher available and if you consider what I said as rude I hope you get your perceptions cleared to understand why I expressed myself in such an aggressive tone. It was not up to me that you reacted defensively rather than realized how broken your approach to Iboga flooding is. I really do not care about individuals that come on here talking about flooding without a sitter, I don't know you, what I care about is Iboga itself and the way it is viewed by society at large. If people take it carelessly than Iboga will be frowned upon and a red light will go up in the publics perceptions. You asked questions about ataxia which can be mitigated with special homeopathics and an ancient chinese recipe for this issue. Of course I'm not prone to helping anymore than that as you royally dissed me. My Mother always has it... "It doesn't matter what other people think about me". Especially strangers.
And I have to agree with you KP on this note. I am concerned with public perception as well. The global consciousness is only getting stronger. In a way, at this convergence, Iboga is the leader for organic SEO on everything Iboga. It is our duty to perpetuate the mission of walking alongside this sacrament's journey into the global consciousness, and supporting this ascent and it's integration with love, compassion, understanding, and SAFETY for the people and the plant. vividmeadow80, I hope you understand KP and my viewpoint. KP, I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty to echo your post...I think we are on a similar page. Back to a positive note, Zingdoozer, I hope you are in a good space, getting all your ducks in a row, prepare to surrender yourself. Glad to have you join the family. Love, Blue
Yep, blue light, great space with all the constant negative posts prior to my flood despite agreeing to get a sitter. I'm not really speechless, but if I say anything it's blood to the I'm better than everyone else because I had a drug sharks. No more negativity till after my flood please. And KP, please don't comment on any of my threads again.
Glad to hear you will have a sitter. Read the story in my signature about my fiasco A sitter is a must!!!! in case of anything goes wrong, whoes gonna call 911??? you cant get arrested for overdosing, Sitter should already have common sense to hide anything ileagal
