My New Year's Eve with Iboga

Hi everyone, I’ll try to be as succinct as I can, so obviously there will be quite a lot missing from this account. I took 2.5g (capsuled) root bark + 3 capsules of piperine in the morning. The first 4 hours were blissful…. I felt as if Iboga was doing (minor) surgery on my brain…a defrag, as others have mentioned. At hour 3 I got greedy for ‘more bliss’ and downed the other 2.5g, which had been sitting in my drawer. Iboga decided to give me a gentle slap and I spent the next few hours lying on the bed having an uncomfortable time. I felt able to handle it…nowhere near as bad as a couple of bad trips I have experienced …tedious but manageable. There were plenty of tracers, and it seemed to be snowing all night (although mild outside). I was able to get up for a few minutes at a time. The effects started to subside, slowly, after 8 hours and I lay awake all night. The next morning brought tiredness but the occasional short bout of euphoria. By the evening this developed into an afterglow which lasted about 36 hours…. wonderful! At times I was crying tears of gratitude to Iboga…. but it also lead me to grasping and attachment. On the morning of day 3 the afterglow disappeared and was replaced by a strong feeling of depression…disappointment and the thought that after all, Iboga is just another drug…takes you up and drops you down. The things I seemed to learn during the first hours and the afterglow, I could not assimilate and meant little now. That same night I woke at 4am with intense feelings of dread and despair ... but after a few minute everything changed…. I surrendered to Iboga’s will and soon felt as if I was in the presence of unconditional love and truth…in fact in the presence of the Divinity. I have no particular religion and the Divinity was physically formless for me. I felt that Iboga was a living entity sharing my mind and body and was, firmly but always with love, showing me truths about myself and life. I was reminded of the expression ‘God and the Devil playing chess’…my ego as the Devil and Iboga as God. For an hour it seemed that Iboga completely washed away my ego…I could do nothing but surrender to this power. I was again in tears, not of sadness or joy, but of awe, humility and gratitude to be in the presence of this being, the Divinity in the form of Iboga. There are two quotes which have stuck with me: From Morpheus in the Matrix “I didn’t say it would be easy, I just said I would be the truth” And from Kambo on this site “Remember Iboga (god) does half the work and you do the other half” Anyway, things calmed down after a few days and a few weeks later I can no longer feel Iboga in my system. I’m neither born again nor floating on air and the presence of the Divine seems to have left as my ego, once again, has asserted it’s customary position…. in control. Nevertheless something, even a small something, has changed. I try to keep this divine presence alive in me by acknowledging it, talking to it, asking it for guidance. I wish I could feel more grateful and humble towards Iboga…. these are the memories I treasure most… more than the blissful afterglow I think…the feeling of being in the presence of something absolutely greater than myself (or my ego!)…something to which I have no option but to surrender. I am now considering how best to continue my relationship with Iboga. Kambo…I also do not forget your view that we need to give something back to Iboga. Micro-dosing doesn’t seem to suit me and I don’t feel ready (from either an emotional or practical perspective) for a full flood right now. I’m thinking of maybe taking 2.5 to 3.5g of root bark once per month. To be honest, I have occasionally found myself  craving the Iboga experience again…. ordinary life seems flat and colourless compared to the Iboga journey…. does this seem right to you? I find it a bit troubling… Do you think there are any health consequences to taking this kind of dose on a monthly basis? Also, do you think there is a risk that 2.5g per month would eventually accumulate to an unintended flood dose at some point?    I hope I haven’t gone on too long and appreciate you all taking the time to read this and, of course, any advice you could offer. Thanks! norene85

How'd you know about that?  Must be a health fanatic.  That kind of monthly dosage should be fine.  I will say that you might be taking a capsule too many of piperine.  Also we're trying to learn new methods of potentiating Iboga without having to take hardly any.  The only issues are we only have 2 of us to test with and we need to be very thorough before giving instructions.  In order to know the safety and effectiveness.  In essence it is a synergistic combination of l-lysine, lecithin and essential oils.  I doubt that 2.5 gr will rise to a flood, it won't stack up when spaced out like that.  Also for me at list when I took 3.3 gr RB and basically flooded on accident that was the most susceptible I ever was really.  So if you didn't go overboard the first time, I doubt you will afterwords.  I think the medicines really just inform us about what we need to take care of in a practical way in our every day life.  To become impeccable hue man beings.  This flat/colourless level can really be halted for good if one takes on the warrior ethic of delving in deep to these medicines, time off then time on and so on and so forth.  A more regimented practice with them makes the way they work constant and consistent throughout your everyday life.  You can tap in easier.  I will say IMO nothing has stuck a dagger into the mundane like a regular Kambo practice.  Discovering more and more how much this medicine in particular keeps one on the bright side of life.  Really just microdosing Kambo seems to make a world of difference but when combined with Ayahuasca or microdosing Iboga it's really coherent the rainbows in your practical life become visible and you are also able to fully function.  There's really no end (it seems) to our ability to navigate and grow these channels of medicinal waters.  Each one of us has the potential to be a forerunner as the medicines make it possible for a no middle man approach.  I don't mean to pry, but why do you say this?  Very small amounts can be extremely beneficial even if it's just when in need or once in a while.  For instance based on your initial approach and the way the 2.5gr effected you, I'm guessing that with only 400-500mg you could see amazing benefits of upbeat attitude and the little teacher in your head.  Thanks for the kind words, made my day.

From your other thread "Hi".  Sorry I should have read that first.  All this is saying to me is you need to take a bit more in order to achieve the remarkable benefits of microdosing.  I find it's only a 250-300mg difference between feeling very little and feeling the radiant light teachings of the cosmos battery (Iboga) and as well the same amount from making it potentially socially awkward.  But again, I'm on the sensitive side of things, some are more steel framed.

Thanks Kambo....I'm busy right now so I haven't been able to read your reply carefully...I will tonight. But, just to say I have read a lot of the back posts on the forum and came across the piperine info for potentiating Iboga here....writtten by you! https://ibogaine.club/community/microba-piperine-i-m-in-love. Definitely not a health nut ! Wow! I've never posted on any forum before (I'm more a lurker than a poster) and I'm really excited to get  such a nice reply!

So…Kambo… First of all the health advice…thanks for that…I’m sure you’re right that a monthly 2.5g to 3.5 dose won’t stack up too much…just needed some reassurance. I read your thread about experiments with potentiating Iboga and would be very interested to hear the eventual results. To be honest, I have questioned whether it’s even morally right for me to be taking this endangered plant when I don’t have an addiction to anything other than my negative self-image (my selfishness/greed usually wins out in the end though  ). Anything which could reduce the amounts needed would be great. Regarding Kambo… it does interest me and I have had a quick look at the Kambo Forum…what puts me off more than anything is the burn method. I agree with you in general about the plant medicines…despite my slight disappointment that I’m not on the perpetual high of the days following the Iboga, I know that it is still with me somewhere, somehow. A little bit of me has changed. I often think of these things as 5 steps forward and 4 steps back…the trick seems to be learning to be grateful for the one step that stays with us! Before the next paragraph I just wanted to add that maybe I wasn’t too clear about the amount of Iboga RB I took…it was 2.5gs followed by another 2.5gs 3 hours later…so 5gs in total. About microdosing….I am not usually a hard hat. I have great sensitivity to most substances, including alcohol, caffeine, weed. In fact it’s really cheap to go out for a drink with me because two pints is about my limit! I did find it strange that 4.5gs over 10 days could have so little effect on me, whereas 5gs (of the same batch) in one go could introduce me to the realms of the Divine. Rather than question it too much I just took it as a sign that this was the way to go for me. I guess I also feel more comfortable doing something once a month than having something in my system for days on end. I won’t close the door on micro-dosing though…what you say is taken on board.
